Popular Chinese smartphone start-up company, OnePlus has reportedly appointed a new regional head for its India operations. Vikas Agarwal, in the official OnePlus blog, has confirmed that he has been chosen as the general manager (GM) of the company's Indian arm.

"I'm honored to introduce myself today: I'm Vikas Agarwal, the new General Manager of OnePlus India. It has been only a few weeks since officially signing on but already I know this will be one of the great accomplishments of my life," said the new GM of OnePlus (India).

With the official appointment of Vikas Agarwal, OnePlus looks all geared to launch the flagship- One in India. Company's director (Global), Carl Pei in an email reply to The Indian Express, has confirmed that OnePlus One (64GB) will soon debut in India under ₹25,000 price tag.

The company has already announced that OnePlus One will be released in India through invite-system, due to limited availability.

For people who are unfamiliar with the OnePlus invite-only scheme, it is a procedure carried out through contest/promotional events. Prospective consumers just have to sign up at company's official Facebook, Twitter and other social networking platform. Once applied, few lucky consumers would get a pass (or an invite) and become eligible to book the device.

As of now, there is no word on the specific timeline of when the invite system will go live online, but Vikas Agarwal has promised to reveal more details in coming weeks. He has also posted a teaser image of the device with a 'coming soon' tag, inciting excitement (evident in the comment section of the blog) among the Indian fans, who have been eagerly waiting since the unveiling in April.

Previous reports have suggested that the OnePlus One is likely to set foot in India by December end.

The company is also scheduled to kick-off the second OnePlus One pre-order service on 17 October for select regions. [For more information, read this IBT India report]
