Update: A rotal of 4,11,917 people have registered for OnePlus 5 on JD website as of 5:52 pm IST (Indian Standard Time).

All eyes are on the potential flagship killer OnePlus 5 at the moment as it will hit the stores a few days from now. Registration for the device has begun in its home country China, and it is almost certain that it will have a rocking opening with thousands of units expected to be sold on day one itself.

The interest of the public over the OnePlus 5 is incredible at the moment. A total of 3,66,848 people have registered for the new device on Chinese online retailer JD at the time of filing this story. The number will only increase as there are still four days to go before the handset is finally released into the market.

Not all the people who have registered will buy the device but a good number of them may do if past trend is anything to go by. The only question that remains to be answered is if OnePlus will have enough units to meet the demands of the consumers.

The OnePlus 5 will be unveiled globally on June 20 before launching it in China on June 21 and in India on June 22. The shipping of the device is expected to begin on the day of announcement itself.

Specifications

The handset is expected to feature a 5.5-inch full Quad HD display with 2,560x1,440 pixels and a metallic cover on the back. Under the hood, it is expected to have a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, an Android Nougat operating system, a 6/8GB RAM and a 128GB/256GB internal memory.

There conflicting reports on the camera of the device. A section of the media has claimed that the handset will have a 23MP main camera and a 16MP front-snapper, while others say it will have a 12MP dual main camera and an 8MP front-snapper. As for battery, it is expected to house a 4,000mAh with Dash Charge 2.0.

Pricing

The 6GB RAM+128GB storage variant is expected to be priced at Rs 32,999 in India (around $510) and the 8GB RAM+256GB ROM model at around Rs 34,999 (around $540).
