Olivia Wilde, the "House" and "Vinyl" star, turns 32 Thursday, March 10, 2016. As most of her fans will know, along with being a phenomenal actress, Wilde is also a producer, model and an outspoken activist.
Wilde was born into a family of journalists, with mother Leslie Cockburn, father Andrew Cockburn, uncles Alexander and Patrick Cockburn, cousin Stephanie Flanders and paternal grandfather all being in the profession. Although she was born Olivia Jane Cockburn, the actress changed her name to Olivia Wilde, after being inspired by Oscar Wilde, and in honour of the many writers in her family, most of whom used pen names.
Besides her acting, Wilde is also respected as an activist and board member of Artists for Peace and Justice, which provides education and health services in Haiti, and the ACLU of Southern California. She is also politically aware and endorsed Barack Obama during his presidential campaign and currently supports Hillary Clinton for the elections of 2016.
