It is Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's birthday today, 13 October. The late Pakistani singer was best known for qawwali songs and was considered to be one of the best in the genre.

Born in Faisalabad, Khan had released a number of albums, which have been regarded as all time hits and also performed in several concerts across the globe.

The legendary singer was known for his creativity in music and his albums are liked by fans of varied ages and groups.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was a proud winner of several awards including UNESCO Music Prize and President of Pakistan's award. Some of his songs were also nominated for Grammy Awards.
