Norman Reedus, who is known for the portrayal of the role of Daryl Dixon in "The Walking Dead", is neither dead nor has he gotten fired from the television series.

A hoax report went viral on social networking sites stating that the actor died in car crash on Thursday.

The report further added: "Norman Reedus was confirmed dead at 8.30 AM this morning. His motor crashed into...," according to The Epoch Times.

But the site turned out to be a fake one as it posted a message at the bottom saying "got trolled".

The actor is constantly updating photos and posts on Twitter, but false reports are still doing the rounds of internet. Some users' also tweeted saying that the actor died with a link of the fake website, some users and his fans reacted strongly to the hoax report on twitter.

"My coworker send a headline saying you were dead, I proceeded to almost wet the bed until I saw it's a hoax. Hold me," one person tweeted.

"Norman Reedus = Not Dead,": another user said.

"HOLY FUCK. NORMAN REEDUS IS ALIVE ALMOST JUST FREAKED THE FUCK OUT."

"Norman Reedus from #WalkingDead. Not dead. HOAX."

"I'm sorry but these posts about Norman Reedus being dead aren't funny. Almost gave your girl a heart attack."

"WHY WOULD ANYONE MAKE A HOAX ABOUT NORMAN REEDUS BEING DEAD? FUCK YOU ALL. my heart stopped."

"Just woke up in Wellington, NZ & I just read that Norman Reedus died In a car crash. This is BS, right? On a good note: best pillows EVER."

"Someine posted on Facebook @wwwbigbaldhead died in a car crash, heres to hoping its not true."

In April, reports were doing the round that the producers had fired Reedus from the show after a tiff, but that information too turned out to be fake.

"Shortly after the airing of the fourth season finale of AMC's popular zombie-themed TV drama The Walking Dead on 30 March 2014, an event that drew an estimated audience of 15.7 million viewers, word began to circulate that actor Norman Reedus, who portrays the character of Daryl Dixon in that show, had just been fired after a disagreement with producers and would be replaced in his role by another actor in the upcoming season," Snopes.com reported.

But the site also added that the news is not true and it might have originated with an April Fool's prank on social networking site.
