It's been just over a week since Finnish handset maker Nokia unveiled its flagship Lumia 1020 in London. And now, the Indian arm of the company is prepping to release this 41-megapixel camera smartphone soon in the country.
Nokia has listed the Lumia 1020 with a 'Coming Soon' tag on its official India website, hinting that the flagship device might hit local retail store sooner than expected. However, there is no mention of the price details.
Nokia Lumia 1020 sports a 4.5-inch AMOLED WXGA (1280x768p) display with PureMotion HD technology, Gorilla Glass 3 screen shield and runs on Windows Phone 8 OS powered by1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory.
Lumia 1020's main USP is its camera specifications; it packs a stunning 41.0-megapixel PureView camera having six physical lenses with OIS (Optical Image stabilizations) and boasts of a plethora of photography enriching features such as 3X High-resolutions zoom, Xenon flash for still images, LED flash for videos, and Nokia Pro Camera applications. On the front side, the phone packs a 1.2-megapixel wide angle HD camera.
It is to be noted that the Finnish company is yet to release the metal-clad Lumia 925 in India which was globally unveiled in mid-May. If Nokia goes on to launch the Lumia 1020 and the former in quick succession, it might lose out on the sales prospects of Lumia 925, as Nokia fans and photography enthusiasts alike are most probably to go for the new 41.0-megapixel camera phone by shelling out a few more bucks.
