An image of Nissan new X-Trail has started doing the rounds, suggesting that the company has begun testing the model on Indian roads. Japanese auto-maker Nissan is expected to launch its X-Trail crossover in India during the festive season this year.

Snapped by MotorBeam, while undergoing testing in Chennai, the spy image shows the X-trail crossover in its fully revealed avatar donned in white body paint. Nissan has showcased the new X-Trail at the Auto Expo 2016 in February.

To be brought to Indian as completely built units (CBU), the X-Trail will be launched with a petrol hybrid engine. It will come powered by a 2.0-litre MR20 DD petrol engine working in tandem with an electric motor to develop a combined output of 179bhp and will be mated to Xtronic CVT transmission.

Nissan X-Trail hybrid measures 4,640mm in length, 1,820mm in width, 1,715mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,705mm. To be sold in 5-seater configuration, the X-Trail is expected to be priced at around Rs. 35 lakh in India.

India will be the fourth market to get the X-Trail Hybrid after Japan, Thailand and Indonesia.
