Japanese auto-maker Nissan has slashed the prices of its Micra CVT hatchback in India after the company increased the localisation of the model. Nissan Micra, which has been driven on Indian roads since 2010, is produced locally at the company's Oragadam plant in Chennai.

The Micra CVT Automatic XL variant has now been priced at Rs. 5.99 lakh, while the Micra Automatic CVT XV comes with a price tag of Rs. 6.73 lakh. The Micra CVT XL received a price cut of Rs. 54,252 from the previous Rs. 6.53 lakh and the Micra CVT XV's cost was slashed by Rs. 45,713 from Rs. 7.19 lakh.

The Micra comes equipped with X-TRONIC CVT automatic transmission. It claims to offer a mileage of 19.34kmpl (as per ARAI). The Micra CVT comes powered by 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that is tuned to generate 75PS of power and 104 Nm of torque.

The other features include smart key with push start stop, steering mounted audio controls, rear LED lamp, follow-me-home headlamps and auto air conditioning controls. On the safety front, the Nissan Micra gets SRS Dual Airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).
