Is Nina Dobrev unaware of Ian Somerhalder's alleged romance with Nikki Reed?
Reports have it that Somerhalder does not want his ex to know his blossoming romance with Reed."The Vampire Dairies" star does not want to hurt Dobrev's feelings by telling her about his new love interest.
Interestingly, Dobrev and Reed are friends. It is reported that Somerhalder and Reed got close to each other when the former was in a relationship with Dobrev and the latter with Paul McDonald.
"They are definitely keeping others [Nina & Paul's] feelings close as they work on their decisions to start an exclusive relationship together. They don't want to upset anyone. It is beyond baby steps right now between the two and Nina hasn't been told anything. But Nina isn't stupid either, she reads the gossip like the rest of us so she will know soon enough," a source told Hollywoodlife.
Somerhalder and Reed sparked off romance rumors after being caught getting cozy at a farmers' market last week. However, it is said that Somerhalder and Reed's romance is still in its initial stage and that they are still not sure if the intimacy will turn into a relationship.
"Ian and Nikki are still in the trial stage of their relationship and they haven't shared with many that they are testing it out. They don't ever want to broadcast to the world what they are doing in their personal life, especially if it isn't going to go anywhere," a source told the Website.
Reed got close to Somerhalder after her break-up with McDonald, as per the reports. McDonald is reportedly devastated after his separation from Reed.
"Paul is still totally heartbroken over the break up. He loves her and always will. They still work together and are in contact, he tries not to ask too much about anything but he's hurt. He had every intention of being with her forever," continued the source.
The reason for their separation is understood to be money and career. McDonald was not making money and Reed 's career was not going anywhere after Twilight which led to problems between the couple.
Meanwhile, in the case of Dobrev and Somerhalder, the couple called it quits last year and is understood to be good friends.
