Nikon has launched its new line up of Coolpix cameras in India as part of the company's plan to expand its market in the country.

The company along with the updated versions of Coolpix camera also introduced new models in the range which include the CoolPix P, S, L and AW series'. With the launch of new series for the Indian market, Nikon India hopes to contribute 5 per cent to the global revenue of the company. The company also hopes to become the number one camera manufacturer in India. Currently Nikon is India's second camera maker.

"The Indian camera market is growing at a good pace even during the slowdown in economy. We expect that India will contribute 5 per cent of our global revenue by March 2016," Hiroshi Takashina, Nikon India Managing Director, told The Hindu.

Nikon Coolpix P series comes with two new camera models namely P520 and P330. P520 features an optical zoom Nikkor lens that offers telephoto like capabilities with a zoom range of 42x and comes with a 18.2 megapixel sensor. On the other hand, the CoolPix P330 comes with a 12.2-megapixel 1/1.7-inch sensor. The models in this series are priced between ₹16,950 and ₹24,950.

The CoolPix S-series includes models like S9500, S9400, S6500, S5200, S4400, S3500, S3400, S2700, and the S31.The cameras in this series come with WIFI connectivity features and are priced in the range of ₹5,950 and ₹18,950.

The four models in the L-series include L820, L320, L28 and the L27 come with high power optical zoom. L820 features optical zoom of 30x and has a 16-megapixel sensor and L320 packs optical zoom range of 26x and it has a 16.1-megapixel sensor while L28 and L27 come with optical zoom of 5x. The models are priced L-series are priced between ₹4,990 and ₹15,990.
