Nikon India has unveiled its lightweight, compact 24.1-megapixel DSLR camera, dubbed Nikon D7100 in India at a price of ₹79,450.

The camera, which features DX-format 24.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, will be available in the country from March. It features 3.2-inch TFT LCD monitor and comes with EXPEED 3 image-processing engine with the optical low pass filter which will allow users to click the objects with sharper details than the other cameras which also have the same resolution.

"Solidifying Nikon's ongoing commitment to the DX-format D-SLR customer, the innovative D7100 provides new ways for photographers to capture their creative vision with incredible detail and precision, whether through still images or HD videos," Bo Kajiwara, Vice President of Marketing, Planning and Customer Experience, Nikon Inc told NDTV Gadget.

The most notable added features of the D7100 are the new Spot White Balance and the 'i' button, making the most used functions like white balancing easier. The camera measures 5.3 x 4.2 x 3 inches (135.5 x 106.5 x 76 mm) and weighs 23.8 ounces (675 g).

"The D7100 blends the best creative features with advanced-level functionality to give the enthusiast exactly what they want- and that's a great shooting experience before, during and after capture, from shooting to sharing," Kajiwara added.

The body of Nikon's D7100 DSLR will be available at ₹79,450 and the price will go up to ₹94,950 when coupled with the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Kit Lens. With the launch of its new DSLR camera, Nikon aims to meet the growing demands for cameras in the country.
