Google Inc. is yet to reveal the release date and specifications of its upcoming flagship smartphone dubbed as the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X but several features of the device have been leaked. Now, it's been said that the smartphone will have the looks of the 2nd generation Moto X.

According to 9to5Google, the appearance of the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X will be similar to the "2nd generation Moto X with some minor tweaks to make the larger size easier to use." The report makes sense as Motorola is said to be manufacturing the device and Google has the tradition of incorporating the looks of its manufacturer's latest device, in its flahship smartphones, be it the Nexus 3, 4 or 5.

The website also claimed that Google's next-generation device will sport a massive 5.92-inch screen with QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 (498ppi), which is 1-inch bigger than its predecessor, the Nexus 5 (4.95-inch with 1080 x 1920 pixels, 445 ppi). The report contradicts earlier reports that the device might sport a 5.2-inch display. It went on to claim that the smartphone will be powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, have 32GB internal memory with 3GB of RAM, house a 3,200 mAh battery, and a 13 MP main camera and a 2 MP front snapper similar to the one seen in the 2nd generation Moto X.

According to Antutu benchmark listing, the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X code named shamu, will sport a 5.2-inch screen with 1440x2560 pixels, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with CPU speed close to 2.5GHz, run on Android L, come packed with 3GB RAM, and house a 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front snapper.

It was also reported that the device might house a 3100 mAh Li-Polymer battery and come with several interesting features, including a curved LCD display and a lightweight, polycarbonate body. In terms of connectivity, the device may boast of Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and micro-USB connectivity slot.

There are contradictory reports on the specifications of the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X and it is difficult to say which one is right, as Google hasn't revealed it so far. But going by history, the device may come with the speculated features when it is released.

Google Inc. is yet to announce the release date of its next-generation smartphone but it is very likely to hit the stores this fall. Inferse website has claimed that the next-generation smartphone would be unveiled on 31 October though it is no confirmed. It may be recalled that Vice president of Google, Sundar Pichai had said at the Mobile World Congress 2014 (MWC 2014) that the device would be announced in October without giving further information.
