A new set of images of what is believed to be the next-generation Suzuki Swift has started doing the rounds on the Internet, giving an early glimpse at the new avatar of India's popular hatchback Maruti Suzuki Swift. The images, which are believed to have been taken from a dealer conference, show the model with different exterior and interior styling.

From the images shared by Auto Express, the model seems to have adopted a slew of changes both inside and outside, even though the next-gen Swift shows the same silhouette of the current-gen Swift. The new Swift reveals different front styling with larger hexagonal grille and new headlights. It flaunts wraparound tail lamps and floating roof line at the rear. Coming to the side profile of the new Swift, it seems to have got pillar-mounted rear-door handles like Chevrolet Beat.

Inside the cabin, the new Swift shows more upmarket details spruced up with new multifunction steering wheel, twin pod instrument cluster with Multi- information Display (MID) and touchscreen infotainment system and HVAC control systems.

As far as the powertrain of the new Swift is concerned, there is no information about the engine of the model. However, the report indicates that the next-gen Swift includes 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol engine under the hood. The India-bound model of the Swift is likely to get a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine.

If rumours are anything to go by, the new Swift could make its global debut in 2017 and India launch is likely in the same year.
