New Year's Eve is just around the corner, and some of you are contemplating on having fancy house parties. Now, to be able to end the year in style you have to have some very fancy drinks to offer at your bash. Time crunch and lack of helping hands may just limit your chances of doing so, but there are a bunch of quick and easy cocktail recipes which will add some sparkle to the menu.

Gin, Vodka, Whisky, White Rum and Tequila are the go-to choices of alcohol. These, when served just as they come, could be a little bland. So to spruce up the party, below is a list of interesting cocktail recipes.

Gin:

Name: Gimlet

Ingredients: 60ml gin, 15ml lime juice, 10ml sugar syrup, and lime zest for garnish. Get the prep method, here. This is a fairly simple recipe as it doesn't need you to go for grocery shopping as most items used are almost always available in your refrigerator.

Name: Bee's Knees

Ingredients: 50ml gin, 10ml runny honey, 5ml water and 15ml fresh lemon juice. Get the complete recipe, here. Making cocktails couldn't get any simpler. Honey and lemon juice is something that's always there, and the combo sounds very yummy.

Whiskey

Name: Whiskey sweet 'n' sour

Ingredients: 10 tbsp whiskey, 2 medium oranges, 2 large limes, a large lemon, 2 tbsp maple syrup, 1/2 cup ice water and ice. For complete directions, click here. For this, one could have to go hunting for some maple syrup as it is not readily available at the local grocery store. But with that out of the way, a whiskey cocktail never looked this easy.

Name: Blizzard

Ingredients: 4½ tablespoons bourbon, 1½ tablespoons cranberry juice, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoons simple syrup. For prep time and directions, go here. For those who aren't aware of certain terminologies related to drinking, simple syrup is nothing but a sugar-water solution. The simplest way to make this is take desirable portions of water and sugar, bring to a boil in a saucepan and allow it cool.

Tequila

Name: Orange Strawberry Tequila Fizz

Ingredients: Four fresh strawberries, juice of 1 orange, juice of half lemon, juice of half lime, ½ tbsp organic cane sugar, ½ tbsp agave syrup, 1½ oz tequila and sparkling water. For directions, click here. Also, there are alternatives to agave syrup, such as honey and white sugar.

Name: Paloma

Ingredients: Salt, 1/4 cup fresh grapefruit juice, 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 cup tequila, and 1/4 cup club soda. For recipe, go here. Grapefruit could be a difficult find, if interested in this one, kindly check at online stores.

White Rum

Name: Fruit Cocktail with Rum Simple Syrup

Ingredients: Assorted fruit, cherries and mint leaves for garnish. Rum simple syrup: 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, fresh mint and 1/4 cup white rum. This could be time-consuming but make sure not to chop fruits much ahead of preparing the drink as they change color after a point making your drink look stale. For full recipe, go here.

Name: Almond Rum Cocktail

Ingredients: Amaretto (almond-flavoured liqueur), rum, lime juice and champagne. The first-timers could avoid too much of this as mixing drinks at times leads to crazy hangovers. For directions, click here.

Vodka

Name: Kamikaze

Ingredients: 2 (1.5 fluid ounce) jiggers vodka, 2 (1.5 fluid ounce) jiggers triple sec liqueur, 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger fresh lime juice, 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger bottled lime juice. This is as easy as it reads, for more directions go here.

Name: Absolute Stress

Ingredients: 1 fluid ounce vodka, 1 fluid ounce dark rum, 1 fluid ounce peach schnapps, 1 fluid ounce orange juice, and 1 fluid ounce cranberry juice. Schnapps is a strong fruit-flavoured drink, can be found at online stores. Click here, for recipe.
