The long rumoured Xiaomi Mi5 was rumoured to debut at the 24 November event in Beijing, but sadly it never materialised. Instead, the programme witnessed the unveiling of the Redmi Note 3 and Mi Pad 2.
Later, company CEO (also founder and chairman) Lei Jun revealed to the press that he actually tried Xiaomi Mi 5 prototype and assured that the device has some really cool features and is worth the wait.
Now, Xiaomi (on Weibo) has teased two new teasers of an un-named device bearing close resemblance to Mi Note series.
But on closer observation, we can see that the device has a very thin bezel, almost no space between the edge and the screen, ruling out the possibility that the phone shown in the teaser is not Mi Note, reported Gizmo China.
In the second poster, we see a graphic image of the phone's display showing water like ripple effect upon getting touched by the finger, hinting Xiaomi Mi 5 will boast 3D Touch feature similar to Apple iPhone 6S.[To view the Xiaomi Mi 5 poster, click HERE]
For the uninitiated, 3D Touch feature enables the phone's display to intuitively sense the difference in finger's pressure to enable new gestures -- Peek and Pop. The users can dip in and out of content without losing their place. They just need to press the screen lightly to get a Peek at a photo, email, web page or other content, and if pressed a little deeper, they can Pop into the content itself.
However, Xiaomi Mi5's will be more superior to Apple iPhone 6S' 3D touch system as the former is said to boast Synaptics' ClearForce technology.

As of now, there is no official word on when the new Xiaomi Mi5 will be unveiled. But, it won't be far as the company has started to tease device's features.
Word on the street is that the Xiaomi will pull the wraps off the Mi 5 in January and release it on 8 February, the first day of the Chinese year of the Monkey (2016).
