As Toyota gears up for the launch of the new seven-seater Fortuner in India, more details about the SUV have started emerging online, including the variants. The new Fortuner is expected to break its cover in the country on November 7.

The bookings for the new SUV are already open in the country and the company has also started dispatching the models to its respective dealerships. The images of the new Fortuner from different dealership yards are also doing the rounds on the internet, giving an early glimpse at the model before its launch in the country.

The new Fortuner will offer different drive modes and will come in four-wheel drive (4WD) and two-wheel drive (2WD) options in both manual and automatic gearbox. From a report of TeamBHP, the new SUV will come in six variants -- 4x2 Petrol Manual, 4x2 Petrol Auto, 4x2 Diesel Manual, 4x2 Diesel Auto, 4x4 Diesel Manual, 4x4 Diesel Auto. It also adds that while the 4x2 variants are likely to be offered with 17-inch alloy wheels, the all-wheel drive (4X4) is likely to get 18-ich alloys.

From a visual stand point, the new Fortuner gets a revised front bumper with bi-xenon LED projector headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs) and LED tail-lamps. In terms of dimensions, the 2016 Fortuner measures 795mm in length, 1,855mm in width, 1,835mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2,750mm.

Powering the Fortuner will be a 2.8-litre GD diesel and a 2.7-litre petrol engines. While the diesel variant will generate a power of 175bhp and 360Nm of torque, the petrol mill will be tuned to pump in 158bhp of power along with 245Nm of torque. We also hear that there will be a 2.4-liter GD diesel engine in the line-up, which will be tuned to generate 148bhp of power and 344NM of torque. The transmission in the SUV will be handled by six-speed manual and automatic gearbox.

As for pricing, expect the 2016 Toyota Fortuner to fall in the price range of Rs 33 lakh to Rs 40 lakh.
