Super Mario Run, which is slated to be released on December 15 2016 to Apple iOS devices across the world, is confirmed to feature an important property that could restrict you from playing the game at any place you like. This aspect is a stable internet connection.

As per Shigeru Miyamoto's (brain behind Super Mario Run) recent interview with Mashable, the three built-in modes of the game would work in tandem by leveraging the internet connectivity of an iOS mobile device. This is applicable to the World Tour mode as well. Shigeru also stated that the intention of offering Super Mario Run to users of iOS first stemmed from the most stable secure environment for gamers to check out the game completely, rather than play bits and pieces of a title at a comparatively shorter interval of time.

Also, Miyamoto shed light on the piracy aspect due to which an internet connection (to check out Super Mario Run) is one of the default requirements. These aspects are a clear indicator that possession of a stable internet connection, within your iOS devices, is mandatory to play Super Mario Run.

With Super Mario Run now confirmed not to work without a stable internet connectivity; other prominent internet requiring games come to mind. A prominent title name, out of these, is Pokemon Go.
