New Hyundai Elantra: Full specifications, price list, features and all you need to know

Hyundai launched its all-new Elantra in India on Aug. 23 (Tuesday) at a glittering event in Delhi. The sixth generation compact sedan has been priced in the range of Rs. 12.99 lakh to Rs. 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Based on the new Fluidic 2.0 design language, Elantra is designed to echo bold, modern and futuristic styling. It flaunts Hyundai's signature chrome hexagonal grille along with HID headlamps and LED Tail lamps. The new Elantra also gets projector fog lamps, welcome function with door pocket light, chrome belt line and chrome outside door handles.

Coming to the interior of the model, Elantra has a driver centric cockpit design with features such as auto cruise control, 3.5 inch mono TFT-LCD, voice recognition and tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel. Other features in the list includes smart trunk that automatically unlocks and pops-out when the owner stands with-in 3 feet behind the vehicle with smart key for more than 3 seconds, infotainment system with 8.0 inch touch screen- audio video navigation system (AVN) with rear view camera, engine start/stop button, rear AC vents and electro chromic mirror.

On the safety front, the new compact sedan packs six airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS) with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), hill start assist control and impact sensing door unlock. The all new Elantra will be available in nine variants with five exterior colour options.

At the heart of the new Elantra are 2.0 litre petrol and 1.6 VGT CRDi diesel engines. While the petrol is tuned to churn out 150bhp at 6200rpm and 19.6Nm at 4,000, the diesel can generate 126bhp at 4,000rpm and 26.5NM 1,900- 2,750rpm.
