American car manufacturer Ford had successful product launches in 2015. It has more launches planned for 2016. While the entry of the iconic muscle car, Mustang, is slated for Auto Expo 2016, Ford will launch the completely revamped Endeavour SUV this month.

Ahead of the rumored launch date of 19 January, the dealers have started accepting bookings for the SUV. A dealership told IBTimes India that the bookings are open with a down payment of Rs 1 lakh. However, an official statement on the bookings from the company is yet to release. Ahead of the launch, Ford also released a video of the SUV that highlights the off-road credentials. The video shows the SUV crossing streams in an off-road trail and traversing to the top of a mountain.

The full-sized seven-seater Endeavour SUV is currently in its third generation and is globally known as Everest. In its third generation, the Endeavour deviates from the typical boxy design of the previous generations and has a more rounded design. The new design is more athletic and gives the SUV a fresh face. The spare wheel at the rear has made its way inside the vehicle, helping it to shorten the length of the vehicle.

Ford's new Endeavour will be available in two TDCi diesel engine options. The 2.2-litre engine develops 158bhp and 385Nm of torque, while the 3.2-litre engine develops 197bhp and 470Nm of torque. The former will be offered with optional of 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive option, the latter will get only four-wheel drive configuration with automatic transmission. The SUV will be available in six variants and colours.

When launched, the SUV will rival against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The new Endeavour is also expected to be priced in the range of Rs 22-25 lakh.
