Dhaka, Jan 09 (ANI): The newly-elected lawmakers of the tenth parliament took oath of office in Dhaka on Thursday after Bangladesh's ruling Awami League won a violence-plagued parliamentary election as expected. Bangladesh recently concluded elections that ended with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Awami League winning more than two-thirds of parliament seats. Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath to the 230 newly elected lawmakers of Awami League including party chief Sheikh Hasina. 31 lawmakers from HM Ershad-led Jatiya Party took oath in second phase.
