Thanksgiving, as we all know, is all about togetherness, good food and spending quality time with your family. Now, along with those turkeys and gravies, it's given that NFL is what runs in the background in most American households. But, we suggest this year break the monotony and try streaming some interesting Thanksgiving special movies on Netflix with your entire family.

Here are five interesting movies currently available to stream on Netflix that is sure to help you bond and bring closer to your family this Thanksgiving.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987): This is a classic comedy that revolves around travel buddies who are forced to trek across the country to get home in time for Thanksgiving, after their flight gets cancelled. Starring John Candy and Steve Martin, the film is a Turkey Day classic.

American Son (2008): This film revolves around a freshly-graduated Marine named Mike who returns home to his dysfunctional family in Bakersfield, California, for Thanksgiving, following United States Marine Corps Recruit Training.

Dutch (1991): This romantic drama follows the story of a working man Dutch, who is dating the divorced Natalie and he offers to drive her stuffy 13-year-old, Doyle from his private school in Atlanta to his mother's home in Chicago for Thanksgiving.

Addams Family Values (1993): This is a comical Gothic horror movie where a family tries to rescue their beloved uncle from his gold-digging new love. This family of the macabre has two movies available to stream, but only the sequel has to do with Thanksgiving where Wednesday Addams declares war on the Pilgrims and turning Thanksgiving dinner into a hilarious massacre.

Pocahontas (1995): This movie is more like a history lesson about the first settlers who came to America and the Native Americans that they encountered. This animated film is about an English soldier who is romantically involved with the daughter of an Algonquin chief when English colonists invade seventeenth-century Virginia. This film talks about people from other cultures and educates about the origins of Thanksgiving.
