Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)) Chief Sharad Pawar has been admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital after he slipped during his morning walk at his New Delhi residence.

Pawar suffered leg and back injuries in the fall, PTI reported. There are no further details on his condition.

He was flown to Mumbai by air ambulance soon after the incident. His wife Pratibha and daughter Supriya Sule accompanied him.

Pawar, 73, is currently a Member of Parliament, representing NCP in Rajya Sabha.

He also served as the chief minister of Maharashtra for three terms and was also a former Union minister.

In 1999, he left the Indian National Congress to form NCP.
