Hours before Reliance Jio's chairperson Mukesh Ambani gets set to make a speech, which is highly rumoured to be an announcement of sorts about newer Jio services, a new report has surfaced online that states that a public Wi-Fi service would be made official at the December 1 event. Mukesh Ambani begins his speech at 1:30 pm IST.

India Today is strongly hinting at the possibility of Jio public Wi-Fi service being officially launched when Ambani makes his speech on December 1. This launch is also rumoured to be a test, with wider rollout speculated to take place during January 2017.

In tandem with the above report, there are also rumours about Jio already carrying out tests of the public Wi-Fi service in select regions of India.

Along with rumour mills rife about new Jio service being unveiled during Mukesh Ambani's scheduled speech, the possibility of Jio launching a new sub-Rs 2,000 feature phones offering 4G-LTE capabilities have also surfaced. These handsets are also rumoured to offer video calling and are likely to be called the LYF Easy phones.

Finally, Reliance Jio's broadband FTTH service is also said to be currently in the testing phase and this offering could also see the light of the day during Mukesh Ambani's speech. As far as the speech itself is concerned, check out Jio's official YouTube channel to track the developments.
