Upcoming movie "Mudhugauv," directed by debutant Vipin Das, is poised to hit screens in Kerala on Friday, May 13. The romantic entertainer marks the acting debut of Gokul Suresh and Arthana in Malayalam.

The movie, produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas under the banner of Friday Film House in association Carnival Motion Pictures, was censored with a clear U certificate on Tuesday, May 10. The title of the film means "kiss," and the term "Mudhugauv" was initially coined in superhit Malayalam film "Thenmavin Kombath," starring Mohanlal and Sobhana in 1994.

Rahul Raj has composed the music for "Mudhugauv," for which cinematography has been handled by Kugan S Palani and editing is done by Lijo Paul. The film also has Vijay Babu, Soubin Shahir, Baiju, Indrans, Abu Salim, Harish, Prem Kumar, Sunil Sukhada, Kottayam Pradeep and Neena Kurup in pivotal roles.

With "Mudhugauv," Gokul, the elder son of Mollywood superstar Suresh Gopi, and Arthana, daughter of actor Vijayakumar, are making their entry into the entertainment industry. The star kids have been garnering positive response from the audience ever since the makers released the trailer and the song of the film.

Genre and Friday Film House production

The movie is touted to be a caper thriller and is the seventh movie produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas. All the films produced by them under the banner of Friday Film House, including "Philips and the Monkey Pen" and "Adi Kapyare Kootamani," among others, have been well accepted. 

Pre-release hype

The songs and the trailer of the film have already raised the expectations of the audience from the movie. After the release of the romantic song "Thoominnal," audience are of the opinion that Gokul will soon be the next romantic hero in Malayalam. The movie is expected to perform well at the Kerala box office and will be locking horns with Kunchacko Boban starrer "Valliyum Thetti Pulliuyum Thetti," which is poised to hit the screens on May 12.
