While the Oscars is where you would want to wear an elegant gown and get a fancy hairdo, the MTV VMAs are where you go to let your hair down and have some fun in the sexiest – possibly skimpiest – outfit you own.

As Miley Cyrus (best known for "twerking" and sticking her tongue out) hosted the VMAs this year, it was already expected to be one of the craziest award events in recent years; but when the night came, it exceeded our wildest expectations – for one, Miley had a nip-slip moment.

To keep the audience energised and charged at all times, the camera followed the host backstage too, and caught a glimpse of something they did not expect. Miley was changing into a new outfit while taking to the Live camera, and the curtain she was holding fell, making America privy to a full frontal moment.

While her nip-slip has been a surprise we did not want to see, Miley had another surprise up her sleeve – a new album. She closed the award night with release of her new album "Miley Cyrus and her Dead Petz", which you can download for FREE here.

Rapper Kanye West was honoured with the Video Vanguard Award for the many music videos that the legend released in the past years right from the erotic motorcycle ride with Kim Kardashian to the Zach Galifianakis cornfield dance in "Can't Tell Me Nothing."

Kanye did not disappoint with his speech, and his camaraderie with Taylor Swift on-stage was too cute to handle. Watch the complete acceptance speech here:
