With less than a couple of days left before the Motorola event kicks off, the company's upcoming smartphone Moto X specifications have been leaked online.

Tech blogger Taylor Wimberly on his Google+ page has revealed that Moto X will feature an innovative 'Magic Glass' layer, a single sheet of Gorillas Glass moulded into a polymer to make a continuous protective sheath that envelopes the whole of the front side i.e. screen as well as lateral edges. He further said there would be 'zero gap' between the back panel.

Rumours are rife that Moto X will sport a 4.5-inch HD 720p display and run on pure stock Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.

Under the hood, it is reported to pack a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor paired with Adreno 320 graphic engine. Memory wise, it is expected to house 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage.

In terms of camera specifications, Moto X is rumoured to flaunt a pretty a decent 10-megapixel camera on the rear side and a 2.0-megapixel camera on the front side.

Even though Moto X is pegged to be a mid-range device, the phone's software features are expected to leave smartphone enthusiast spell-bound. According to various reports, Moto X will boast of an intelligent feature, wherein it can sense if it is in a moving car and automatically launch speaker phone mode while on a call. The phone is also said to feature a smart app to open the camera with just a flick and an advanced voice-command application.

It is to be noted that the Moto X will be the first major phone device to roll out of the American technology major since the company was taken over by Google in a $12.5-billion dollar buy-out deal in 2012.

Moto X is also touted to be the first ever American smartphone to be designed, engineered and manufactured on its home soil. Motorola's 500,000 square-foot factory plant in Fort Worth, Texas will assemble the Moto X smartphone. Thanks to this initiative, the company is reported to create close to 2000 jobs for the locals in the area.

Motorola is scheduled to launch the Moto X smartphone in New York City on 1 August.
