Motorola unveiled two Moto G (4th gen) variants — Moto G4 and G4 Plus — at an event in New Delhi on Tuesday. Now, it has come to light that there is actually a third variant, the Moto G4 Play, which is expected to hit stores in the U.S. later this summer.
The American arm of Motorola has listed the specifications of Moto G4 Play (XT1607), revealing that it is a watered down version of the generic Moto G4 (XT1625) model. The key difference between the two is that the former comes with a smaller 5.0-inch screen having HD (1280x720p) resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core CPU, an 8MP primary camera and a 2,800mAh battery.
On the other hand, the latter features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920x1080p) display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, 13MP camera on the rear and a 3,000mAh battery.
The rest of key specifications such as RAM capacity, mobile OS, front camera remains same.
As of now, there is no official word on the pricing of the Moto G4 Play. The company is expected to announce the details during the local launch events probably in June or by the end of July.
