Google owned Motorola will roll out the upcoming Nexus 4 successor aka Nexus 5, and not the original Nexus smartphone manufacturer, LG, if reports have anything to go by.
Technology website, Android & Me, founder Taylor Wimberly has claimed that the American smartphone maker Motorola will manufacture the next generation Nexus smartphone.
Wimberly said "Motorola will release a Nexus smartphone in Q4 (that is not the Moto X)," clearly mentioning that the much-awaited Nexus 5 would be coming in a few months' time. However, he refrained from revealing more details of the new Nexus phone specifications.
Wimberly had revealed certain key features of the Motorola's new smartphone Moto X much before its launch and most of it came true, thus many believe that this new piece of information from him could be true too.
The latest revelation by Wimberly came just two months after the LG Mobile executive of Europe division had hinted that the South Korean company had no immediate plans to launch Nexus 5 any time soon.
"Despite the production problems The Nexus 4 was a great success for us and Google. But we do not need such a marketing success again," LG Mobile, Vice President, Europe, Won Kim told Dutch technology publications, All About Phones in an interview.
According to reports, Nexus 5 is expected to sport a 5.0-inch full HD 1920x1080p display and run on the latest Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS or possibly come with rumoured v5.0 Key Lime Pie operating system.
Under the hood, it is said to pack the 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor to support super fast LTE-Advanced network connectivity. Nexus 5 may house 3GB RAM and 3300 mAh battery.
