Along with the Moto G 2015 edition, Motorola launched its flagship smartphone Moto X in two variants globally. However, the Moto X Play, or Moto X Sport, has not yet been made available in several countries, including India. Now Motorola is apparently in a hurry to launch one of them in India soon, 14 September to be precise. The launch will happen in New Delhi.

Though Motorola is tight-lipped about which variant will be launched, we speculate it should be the Moto X Play. The Moto X Play had earned enough appreciation from reviewers around the world for its overall performance and camera potential.

The Moto X Play flaunts a 5.5-inch, 1080x1920 pixels, 403 PPI display on board. The device comes with a rubberised rear panel with a water resistant coating like the latest Moto G device. But the USP of the Moto X Play is its robust 3,630 mAh battery with a claimed battery life of two days. Another spectacular feature of the Moto X Play is its 21MP, f/2.0 rear camera which counts among the best camera in a smartphone worldwide, according to several reviewers. We can only speak about the device once we get it in our hand.

Under the hood, the Moto X Play packs an octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC backed with 2GB RAM and is available in 16GB and 32GB storage variants. Both the devices are expandable up to 128GB through micro SD card.

It is believed that in India, the Moto X play will be sold exclusively on Flipkart, which had earlier put the device on its website but later removed it.
