Motorola has launched the Moto G (3rd Gen) aka Moto G (2015). It is priced less than its predecessor, Moto G (2nd Gen), despite several feature upgrades over it but stiff competition awaits it in the Indian market with smartphones like Micromax Yu Yureka Plus, Lenovo K3 Note, Huawei Honor 4X and several others currently available for grabs.

The 8GB variant of Motorola Moto G (3rd Gen) comes with a price tag of Rs 11,999, which means it will have to take on devices like Micromax Yu Yureka Plus (current price: Rs 8,999), Lenovo K3 Note (current price: Rs 9,999), and Huawei Honor 4X (current price: Rs 9,999).

It is difficult to say which budget smartphones is the best but here is a specification comparison of the device to help prospective buyers choose the best handset:

Display: Micromax Yu Yureka Plus and Lenovo K3 Note sport a 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401ppi pixel density), while Huawei Honor 4X has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 7,20x1,280 pixels (267ppi pixel density), and Moto G (3rd Gen) has 5-inch HD display with 7,20x1,280 pixels (294ppi pixel density).

Processor: Lenovo K3 Note scores over other devices with Mediatek MT6752 processor, compared to Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 in Yu Yureka Plus, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 in Huawei Honor 4X, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 in Moto G (3rd Gen).

Operating System: Moto G (3rd Gen) runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, Lenovo K3 Note on Android 5.0 Lollipop, Huawei Honor 4X on Android OS 4.4.2 KitKat, upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop, and Yu Yureka Plus on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, upgradable to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

Memory: Lenovo K3 Note and Yu Yureka Plus come packed with 16 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB and 2 GB RAM, Huawei Honor 4X has an 8 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB and 2 GB RAM, and the 8 GB model of Moto G (3rd Gen) is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card and has 1 GB RAM.

Camera: All the devices have 13 MP main camera and 5 MP front snapper.

Battery: Lenovo K3 Note and Huawei Honor 4X have 3000 mAh battery, while Yu Yureka Plus has 2500 mAh, and Moto G (3rd Gen) has 2,470 mAh battery.

Conclusion: Lenovo K3 Note scores over other devices as far as specification is concerned though its price is Rs 2,000 less than the Moto G (3rd Gen). Motorola's latest offering will face stiff competition from Yu Yureka Plus and Huawei Honor 4X, as they boast of good features.
