It is the peak of summer and most of the touristy locations will anyway be filled with summer holidayers. So instead of heading out to the traditional places, here are a few places that you can check out.

If you live close to Bengaluru, skip Hampi and Coorg and head to the coffee estates with a beautiful view, Chikmagalur. A five hours drive from the city, the hill station is tucked away in the breathe taking Western Ghats forming a great holiday spot. The small town has numerous heritage retreats to stay at. Not only will it give your mother a break from the heat, she can unwind in the arms of nature. Don't forget to take your trekking shoes along!

If you live close to Mumbai and Pune, there are a number of places you could check out. But for a one-day trip, you could head out to Matheran. Another nature's basket of blessing, the smallest hill station of Maharashtra does not allow vehicles within the city's boundaries, making it a peaceful holiday for your mother. From temples to a trek spot, there is something for all here.

Living close to Delhi? There are great deals of places right across the border. From Agra to Jaipur and Vrindavan, you can take your pick. However, while listing down a few places to visit, there is one that will help your mother treat like royalty, Mussoorie. The Queen of hill stations, treat your mother like one by picnicking by beautiful waterfalls or dress up and head to the marvelous colonial structures that the town has preserved for years.
