The success of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo has made Lee Joon Gi an overnight sensation, and according to recent reports, he is on the way to becoming more popular than Descendants of the Sun's Song Joong Ki and Moonlight Drawn by Clouds' Park Bo Gum.

Reportedly, the tickets to Lee Joon Gi's recent fan meeting sold out in less than a minute, and this is a first for an upcoming star. According to the Kpop Herald, all 1,400 seats for the Seoul fan meeting were snapped up in just 52 seconds. The Hallyu star will kick off his Asian fan meeting at the Gyedang Hall, Sangmyung University on December 3. Fans who have not been able to get tickets have also been urging his agency, Namoo Actors, to hold an additional fan meeting in Seoul.

The actor is also set to make his Hollywood debut soon with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Talking about landing a role in the film, he said director Paul W. S. Anderson muted a footage of him acting and examined how well he could emote before hiring him.

"It's just a special appearance," Lee Joon Gi told Singles magazine. "I think of it as a good experience. I have been acting for more than 10 years now, but there's still a lot I want to show everyone. I haven't met my true character yet. I hope to in the future."

On the other hand, both Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum are yet to grab any Hollywood projects.

Lee Joon Gi played prince Wang So in Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, a historical drama, and he worked hard to fit into the role. This required a bit of physical transformation as well. "When the director suggested that he wanted my character to seem more sharp and pointed, I decided to lose 15 kilograms (approximately 33 pounds). I'm currently maintaining it," the actor told Marie Claire.
