Just hours after a 13-year-old was molested and thrown off a bus in Punjab's Moga, a young woman in the district has alleged that she was gangraped, according to reports.

The 23-year-old victim alleged that she was gangraped by her friend's husband and his friends in the wee hours of 29 April at a remote house in Marhi Mustafa village near Moga, 180 km from Chandigarh.

She claimed that she, along with her boyfriend, had gone to her friend's house, where they decided to stay overnight. But late in the night, her friend's husband, who was reportedly drunk, came in with seven others and beat up her male friend.

Later, she was allegedly taken to the tube-well room outside the village and was gangraped by the men throughout the night. She added that she was allowed to leave the room only on Thursday morning.

Medical examinations have confirmed the rape, and the police registered a case of rape against the men on 30 April. However, no arrests have been made so far.
