Modern Family fans mark your calendars as the hilarious TV show sets to return with two new seasons. Yes, the ABC comedy show that tickled everyone's funny bones right from the first episode has confirmed that they are returning for season 9 and 10. Hurray!

Confirming the news, The Hollywood Reporter shares that fans will get 44 episodes each with 22 in each season. However, the future of the Emmy award winning show after season 10 is still in the dark.

It has also been confirmed that Sofia Vergara (Gloria), Julie Bowen (Claire), Ty Burrell (Phil), Eric Stonestreet (Cameron), Jessie Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell) and Ed O'Neill (Jay), Rico Rodriguez (Manny), Nolan Gould (Luke), Sarah Hyland (Haley) and Ariel Winter (Alex) are returning to the show.

Different sources of the numerous entertainment websites hint that the stars will be paid a hefty salary to return.

"Modern Family has been the centerpiece of our comedy brand for eight seasons and we are thrilled to have it on our schedule for two more years," said ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey in a press statement.

The delay in renewal happened following a fight between 20th TV and ABC over the costing of the long-running series. Fans of the show from across the world have tweeted out to express their excitement.

Despite the delay, Twitter has gone haywire as twitterratis are unable to contain their excitement.

The filming and air dates are yet to be announced.
