Microsoft released the much awaited Windows 10 Anniversary update to all eligible Windows PCs on Wednesday. In the press release, the American software giant, without specifying the actual date, announced that it would also deploy the update for Windows 10 mobile phones in coming weeks.

Some impatient Windows phone users took to Twitter to directly ask the company for the official release details. Surprisingly, the regional mobile arm of Microsoft, Lumia India, revealed that the company will commence roll-out process Aug. 9 onwards.

"@VinayRavipati Thanks for reaching out! For mobile, it will be available on August 9, 2016. If you have any queries, we'll be here for you!, " Lumia India tweeted back(courtesy, Windows Latest)

But for reasons unknown, the tweet was later deleted, leaving fans fuming. We are not sure why Microsoft Lumia India retracted the Twitter message, but it is widely reported that the update release might get delayed.

That being said, Windows OS-powered phone users need not worry as the Anniversary update is certain to be released by the end of August or early September via OTA (Over-The-Air).
