Microsoft appears to be getting ready to launch its much-delayed mid-range smartphone dubbed as the Lumia 850 aka Honjo, as pictures of the alleged device have been leaked.
Several pictures claiming to be the upcoming Lumia 850 have been leaked on Chinese website Tieba (via WMPowerUser) and it has hinted at a few possible features the phone may come with. There is a front-facing flash and perhaps an iris scanner on top of the device, and an audio jack at the bottom. It also looks like the device will come with a microUSB 2.0 port.
The Lumia 850 has been in news since July last year and was rumoured to be coming with the Lumia 550, which has already been released. Thereafter, several reports claimed that Lumia 850 will be released along with the Lumia 650 (model number RM-1152) in the first quarters of 2016.
Now, few reports also suggest that Microsoft will announce the Lumia 850 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC 2016), which will be held from 22 February to 25 February. Nothing about the device is confirmed at the moment but its launch appears to be drawing close, if reports are anything to go by.
According to a report by Ithome (in Chinese) (via NokiaPowerUser), a Lumia device with model number RM-1182, believed to be the Lumia 850, has passed 3C certification in China. The same device was cleared earlier in Indonesia.
Microsoft is tight-lipped on the Lumia 850 but several reports claim that it will sport a 5.4-inch display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor clocking at 1.5 GHz, house Adreno 405 GPU and support Cat.7 LTE. It is also expected to come packed with 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, 10MP main camera, 5MP front-snapper and a 2,650 mAh battery.
