Microsoft Lumia 640 XL, a mid-range device announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), is expected to come to India soon as it has already being listed on T-Mobile. It will have to take on several devices, especially Micromax Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G in the price-sensitive Indian market.

Interestingly, Microsoft Lumia 640 XL may come with a price tag close to Micromax Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, probably under ₹10,000. Yu Yureka costs ₹8,999 and Redmi Note 4G comes with a price tag of ₹9,999.

The alleged import data of put the price of the Lumia 640 Dual SIM at ₹4,683 ($75) while that of the Lumia 640 XL dual SIM stands at ₹6,710 ($107), according to Zauba (via GMS Arena). However, the price mentioned in the data is not final and is very likely to be pricier when it hits the stores. The price of the Lumia 640 XL could be around ₹10,000 or even more.

Screen and Display:

Microsoft Lumia 640 XL has bigger screen with 5.7-inch compared to 5.5-inch screen with 720 x 1280 pixels seen in Micromax Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G. However, Yu Yureka and Redmi Note 4G have better display with 267ppi pixel density, compared to 259 ppi in Lumia 640 XL. So, it comes down to whether you want bigger screen or better display.

Hardware and Software:

Micromax Yu Yureka scores over Redmi Note 4G in terms of hardware and software. The former is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and CyanogenMod Android 4.4.4 KitKat, while the latter is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (upgradable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat) with MIUI 5.0. Microsoft Lumia 640 XL is also powered Snapdragon 400 processor but it runs on operating system Windows 8.1 with Lumia Denim update (upgradable to Windows 10).

Storage:

Micromax Yu Yureka comes packed with 16 GB internal memory, 2 GB RAM and microSD slot up to 32GB; Redmi Note 4G has 8 GB internal storage, 2 GB RAM and microSD up to 64 GB, while Lumia 640 XL houses 8GB internal storage, 1GB RAM and memory expandable up to 128GB. The Yu Yureka and Redmi Note 4G has more RAM while Lumia 640 XL gives users more storage option.

Camera:

Score is even with all the three devices coming with 13MP main camera and 5MP front snapper.

Battery:

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G has strongest battery with a 3100 mAh (Li-Ion Polymer) compared to 3000 mAh battery seen in Microsoft Lumia 640 XL and 2500 mAh (Lithium-Polymer) in Micromax Yu Yureka.

Conclusion: It is not very fair to compare these devices as the exact price of the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL is still not known. But interestingly, the Lumia 640 XL, Yu Yureka and Redmi Note 4G have few common features and no device is clearly ahead of the other. However, the Redmi Note 4G is slightly ahead as far as specification is concerned.
