Mobile phone makers are bombarding the Indian smartphone market with budget devices off late, in the hope of gaining a toehold in the price-conscious segment. After Micromax Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Karbonn Titanium Mach Two too has joined the battle.

Gadget lovers will have the luxury of choosing low-priced devices like Xiaomi Redmi 2, Lenovo A6000, Moto E 2nd Gen and Xolo Q1001, among others.

They also have the option of going for mid-range devices like Micromax Yu Yureka, Karbonn Titanium Mach Two and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G which have bigger screens and better specifications, with prices hovering around ₹10,000.

Micromax Yu Yureka

The phablet sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with 720x1280 pixels (267 ppi pixel density) that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor that clocks at 1.7GHz, and runs on CyanogenMod Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It also comes packed with 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB) and 2GB RAM, houses a 13MP main camera and 5MP front snapper, and powered by 2500 mAh (Lithium-Polymer) battery. It has a price tag of ₹8,999.

Karbonn Titanium Mach Two

The device has a 5.0-inch 720p display with 720x1280 pixels (294ppi pixel density) and screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by 1.4GHz MediaTek octa-core processor, and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. It comes packed with an 8GB internal memory, 1GB RAM and microSD up to 32GB, houses 8MP front and rear cameras, and powered by 1800mAh battery. It is a dual SIM device priced at ₹10,490.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G

The device sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixels (267 ppi pixel density), powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (upgradable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat), and comes with MIUI 5.0. It also has features like 8 GB internal memory, 2 GB RAM and microSD up to 64 GB, 13MP main camera and 5MP front snapper, and powered by 3100 mAh (Li-Ion Polymer) battery. It comes with a price tag of ₹9,999.

Verdict

Karbonn Titanium Mach Two is the costliest among the lot but nothing much to boast of. It has a better display with 294ppi, but its screen size is smaller than the other two devices, besides inferior RAM and camera. On the other hand, Micromax Yu Yureka and Redmi Note 4G have similar features like screen size, RAM and camera, and the latter scores slightly over the former owing to its vibrant display, powerful battery and stable software.
