After the success of Micromax Canvas A116 Canvas HD sales, speculations were rife that Micromax would come up with a successor to the record seller with more high-end features.

A few days ago, an anonymous tipster had leaked out a spec list of the speculated 'A120 Canvas Pro HD' A.K.A 'Canvas 3' to popular technology website Tech2.com.

The website revealed that the rumoured Canvas 3 would sport a 5.5-inch screen with 1920x1080p Full HD display protected by the Corning's Gorilla Glass display shield.

It also revealed that the big-smartphone would pack a 2GHz quad-core processor along with PowerVR Series based graphics engine and 2GB RAM with 8GB internal memory which is expandable up to 64GB.

Canvas 3 was speculated to sport a high-end HD13-megapixel main camera with dual-LED flash support and a 3.2-megapixel front camera.

The speculated fancy-full features make for a perfect smartphone. Any smartphone enthusiast would be happy to own one and it sure would have made a tough competitor against all MNC branded high-end smartphones in the market.

But, the speculations were short-lived as Micromax came forward with a statement to the Tech2.com that it has no current plans of introducing any successor to A116 Canvas HD.

On a related news, there are reports that the price of A116 Canvas HD, which is facing a staggered supply to retail stores due to unprecedented demand, is expected to be hiked to ₹14,499 from ₹13,999.
