Micromax has officially launched its entry-level Canvas Pep smartphone for ₹5999 on Wednesday, February 19, 2015.
Canvas Pep will be available in Pristine White and Mystic Blue colour variants and can be purchased through both online and offline stores, according to a Tech Shout report.
"To infuse excitement in the lives of the consumers, Micromax Informatics Limited, India's leading handset player, announced the launch of its new smartphone - Canvas Pep in India. Designed for the young hyper social new age consumer, the latest smartphone enables seamless multi-tasking at a speed of light," the company said in a press release.

Prior to this, Micromax officially confirmed Android Lollipop rollout for its popular Canvas series in India. Owners of Canvas Xpress A99 have already started receiving the update over-the-air, making it the first Canvas phone to get the Lollipop treatment.
"As a brand, we are committed to keeping our customers delighted with best-in-class technologies and experience. Riding on the same thought, we are today rolling out the Android L update with Canvas Xpress, making the overall user experience more efficient and seamless," a Micromax spokesperson said in a statement, Tech FirstPost reported.
Earlier this month, the company unveiled two new low-cost devices, with prices starting at ₹699, targeting consumers looking for affordable devices as back-ups to their smartphones.
