Popular indigenous smartphone maker, Micromax, is all set to launch a new affordable handset Canvas L in India soon.
As the name implies, Canvas L is a big-screen smartphone. It flaunts a mammoth 5.5-inch qHD (960 x 540p) IPS screen and ships with the Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS out-of-the-box.
Under the hood, it houses a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor backed by sumptuous 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory and a high-capacity 2,350 mAh battery, which can run the device for up to 8 hours of talk time and close to 210 hours under standby mode.
As far as imaging is concerned, Micromax Canvas L comes equipped with an 8.0-megapixel camera (with LED flash and auto-focus) on the rear side and a 2.0-megapixel fixed-focus snapper on the front for video-chatting.
The company has listed the new phone Canvas L in its official website, but the details regarding the device's price and release date are still under wraps.
It will also compete as a cheaper alternative to Intex Aqua Octa, Samsung's Mega Series (5.8 and 6.3) and HP Slate 6 and Asus Zenfone 6.
Over the last one month, Micromax has been flooding the market with a slew of budget KitKat-powered smartphones, probably to off-set the competition leveraged by the entry of new MNC brands.
These include Xiaomi, Asus and Obi Mobile, who are eyeing to cash-in on burgeoning Indian smartphone market share.
