Popular indigenous smartphone maker, Micromax, has released a budget Android handset called A34 into the subcontinent market.

The new Micromax A34 can be purchased at the online store Flipkart for ₹4,399.

Micromax A34 sports a 3.95-inch TFT HVGA screen with 320x480p display resolution and packs a 1350 mAh powered Li-Ion battery which can run the smartphone for four hours (talk time). If it is kept under standby mode, A34 can survive up to 120 hours.

In terms of internal hardware, it houses a 1GHz dual-core chipset with 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM and 168MB user memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD. This device also supports Dual-SIM slot.

It sports a single 2.0-megapixel with flash support and 8x zoom. One disappointing aspect is that Micromax A34 runs on the three-generation old Android v.2.3.5 OS. Many recently released sub-₹5000 based smartphones such as Intex Cloud X3, Lava Iris 402 and Iris 356 feature new Android v.4.2 OS with dual-core processors.
