After weeks of speculations, Xiaomi has pulled the wraps off the new Redmi 3 budget phone in China.
The new Redmi 3 is the first Redmi series Xiaomi phone to flaunt a full-metal body. It sports 5.0-inch HD display and comes packed with the new Snapdragon 616 Octa-core SoC (System-on-Chip) backed by 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and a huge 4100 mAh battery that reportedly offers 80% more talktime than its predecessors.
It must be noted that Redmi 3, despite housing a massive cell, is slimmer than Redmi 2. The former measures 8.5 mm thickness, whereas the latter features beefy 9.4 mm thickness.
Xiaomi Redmi 3 release and price details:
The company has reportedly confirmed that the new Redmi 3 will hit stores in China on 12 January for ¥699 (around $107/€98/Rs. 7,143). It will be available in four colour options: Classic gold, fashion gold, fashion grey and fashion silver.
Will Redmi 3 Set foot in India?
There is be no official word on whether Redmi 3 will be released in India or not, but we believe that Xiaomi will waste no time in launching the device in the country as the company is not likely to face any sanction on sales like Redmi Note 2 and Note 3 series as Redmi 3 packs Snapdragon chipset and does not violate any 3G/4G patents of Ericsson.
Stay tuned for more updates.
