Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed the launch of its new A-class hatchback on December 8. The launch of the new A-Class also marks Mercedes-Benz India's final new product in 2015, which is part of its "15 in 15" product presentation strategy.

The slightly restyled new A-Class comes with optional LED headlamps, a reworked front bumper which is more arrow-shaped according to the manufacturer, newly designed internals for the LED tail lamps and new exhaust tips at the rear bumper.

The interior is spruced up with an updated "tubular design" instrument cluster with new graphics, while the dash gets revised switches and a large, free-standing and frameless display of the infotainment system, which is now optionally available with eight-inch screen.

The new-generation A-Class is the first Mercedes-Benz model to be available with seamless smartphone integration such as Apple CarPlay for iPhone users and MirrorLink will be available starting in early 2016.

The A-class is expected to continue with the same petrol and diesel engines. The A 180 Sport petrol variant, which will be renamed A 180 according to the new nomenclature of the company, will be powered by the inline four-cylinder 1,595cc engine. The engine develops 120bhp at 5,000rpm and 200Nm of torque starting at 1,250rpm. The A 200 CDI Sport diesel mill, which will be renamed A 200d, will be powered by an inline four-cylinder 2,143cc engine that develops 134bhp at 3,600rpm and 300Nm of torque at 1,600rpm. Both engines will be mated to seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
