German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch a series of new cars in India. The company has now confirmed that it will be bringing the celebration editions of its A Class and B Class to India in the coming weeks.
The changes are likely to be more on the diesel versions of Mercedes Benz A and B Class hatchbacks and rumours are that the auto lovers can expect features like panoramic sunroof, rear seat central arm rest, front passenger seat with memory function and electric adjustment and updated reverse camera. In addition to this, the B-Class is also likely to get rear seat entrainment systems.
On the mechanical front, both the vehicles will retain the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel motors, which can churn out 107 bhp power, coupled to dual-clutch seven-speed transmission.
Besides A and B Class special editions, Mercedes-Benz is also expected to launch E-Class cabriolet in the country later in the year, reported RushLane. E-Class cabriolet, a car which is stylish and sporty in its design and features, will draw its power from 3.0 liter V6 engine that is capable of pumping in 333 PS power at 5,500 rpm and 480 Nm torque at 1,400 to 4,000 rpm. The engine will come mated to a 7G-Tronic 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox and can accelerate 0 to 100 kmph in 5.3 second.
Currently, Mercedes-Benz sells A Class, B Class, sedans C Class, E Class, S Class in India besides the locally made S Class, E-Class, C-Class, GL-Class and M-Class models. The AMG lineups in India include C 63 AMG, E 63 AMG, G 63 AMG, GL 63 AMG, SLS AMG and ML 63 AMG.
Recently, the company started rolling out its S Class S350 CDI, the diesel version of S-Class in India with a price point of ₹1.07 crore (ex-showroom, Pune).The new S-Class model packs 3.0 liter V6 turbocharged diesel motor under the hood, which can generate a power of 258 bhp at 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 490 Nm between 1,600 and 2,400 rpm.
It comes with 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.8 seconds. The diesel version of S-Class promises a top speed of 250 kmph. The car offers features like Burmester sound system with 24 speakers, 8 airbags and misses features like Nappa leather and night vision system which were seen in S 500 model.
