Annual sales figures of the three German luxury brands- Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz are closely watched by the automobile industry at the beginning of every year. Audi outdone rest of the two in 2013 and 2014. However, 2015 seems not a cakewalk for Audi as Mercedes-Benz recorded 34% growth in just nine months and already crossed 10,000 units of sales in 2015.

Stuttgart-based luxury car maker Mercedes Benz India took an early lead over the main rival Audi for the first two quarters reports Economic Times. The third quarter seems to be no change in trend and increased sales will help Mercedes-Benz to regain the number one position at the end of the year.

The 10,000 units are considered as the milestone for the luxury car makers. Audi managed to breach the mark in 2013 and continued in 2014 with the sales of 10,851 units. Mercedes-Benz couldn't achieve 10,000 unit sales in 2013 but entered the elite group in 2014 with 10,201units. Mercedes-Benz has already passed the 10,000 units sales in 2015 with three months remaining, the annual result is expected to be a new record.

"This continuous sales success is a clear reflection of our customer-centric approach and our relentless drive towards creating customers for life. I am glad to see the India strategy bearing fruits, and we are well poised for entering the Q4 with a very strong footing," said Roland Folger, the newly appointed MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India.

The aggressive product onslaught is the key reason for the surge in demand and sales of the Mecedes-Benz cars. The company follows "15 models in 2015" product strategy which saw many launches that include, Mercedes-Maybach S600, AMG C 63 S, AMG S 63 sedan, S 500 Coupe, S 63 AMG Coupé, S 600 Guard, CLS 250 CDI, E 400 cabriolet and many more. The 13th launch for the calendar year is the GLE (previous M-Class) SUV, which is scheduled to be launched on 14 October.
