German luxury car-maker Mercedes-Benz launched its luxury roadster AMG SLC 43 in India on Tuesday, July 26. Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 has been priced at Rs. 77.5 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 replaces the company's SLK 55 in India. It is the second AMG car launched by the car-maker in India in 2016.

Under the skin of the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 is a 3.0litre, 6 cylinder, twin turbo engine, which can conveniently pump in 362bhp at 5,500-6,000rpm and a peak torque of 520Nm at 2,000- 4,200 rpm. It rides on 18-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels and comes with features like updated instrument cluster, multifunction sports steering wheel, COMAND infotainment and communication system and upholstery finished in black nappa leather.

As for styling, at the front the AMG SLC 43 flaunts new front grille with single chrome slat and features new headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Though the side profile of the new AMG offering looks the same as SLK, at the rear, its bumper and tail lamps get a re-working.

In India, the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 will take on the likes of BMW Z4 roadster, Audi TT and the Jaguar F-Type. Mercedes-Benz plans to launch 12 new models in India in 2016. Earlier in June, the company launched GLC SUV in India with a price tag starting at Rs. 50.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
