Manchester United is on the run to sign young Dutch winger Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven in the next transfer window. Depay is being lauded as the "new Robben" because of his Arjen Robben like pace and dribbling skills.

It has been more than a decade that United has been trying to sign Robben, but has failed time and again. Robben escpaed the nets of United when he was young but surely Depay will help this English club come out of their Robben woes.

This young lad has already scored 23 goals for PSV out of which 17 came from the Eredivisie and that too in 24 matches, reported football365.com.

He was included in the 23-man World Cup squad in 2014 by Louis Van Gaal and to everyone's surprise, he emerged as one of the better players for The Netherlands. Depay also became the youngest Dutchman (20 years) when he scored the winner against Australia in the group league match in the FIFA World Cup 2014. He went on to net against Chile as well and was nominated for the young player of the tournament award.

Depay debuted with PSV in 2011 and former stars like Guus Hiddink exclaimed that he would be one of the finest players Holland have ever produced. Depay's ability to outrun any defender is evident and he also has this knack of scoring from the free kicks.

United have already sent out their scouts to check on his progress and Van Gaal and his support staff watched Holland defeat Spain on Tuesday, reported manchestereveningnews.co.uk. Depay has a price tag 20 million pounds and it could well be the runaway price for the Red Devils. At this moment, United are looking to win the race in signing Depay because of his relation with Van Gaal.

Midfield looks good at united with Michael Carrick, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Angel Di Maria but they lack  pace on the wings and Depay could well be United's long seeked solution after the departure of the mighty Christiano Ronaldo.
