In a strange incident, a "Bible man" of a Presbyterian Church in the Meghalaya capital was allegedly sexually assaulted by five men on Monday night.

According to a report in The Shillong Times, the elderly victim was sexually assaulted by fellow passengers in a cab, who kidnapped him on the way. The "Bible man" was going to meet his ailing brother-in-law in a hospital.

"The five occupants of the cab took him to a forest area near Police Training School at Mawlai Mawroh and sexually assaulted him after stripping him," The Shillong Times quoted a source as saying.

The five accused left the spot after the crime, following which the victim managed to call his wife and informed her about the incident. Locals soon initiated a search for the victim, who was found in an unconscious state around midnight. He was rushed to a hospital.

An FIR has been filed against the five accused. However, no arrest has been made so far.
