Megastar Chiranjeevi, who is busy with the preparation for his 150th movie, is undergoing a shoulder surgery at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai today. It is said to be a minor operation.

A source close to Chiranjeevi has confirmed the news about him undergoing shoulder surgery in Mumbai. "It's a very minor surgery. Over the last few months, he's been struggling with some pain in his shoulder. He has finally decided to get it operated as he starts shooting for his next film from March, and doesn't want the pain to aggravate," IANS quoted a source as saying.

Chiranjeevi did not turn up for the voting in the elections for GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation). Several speculations were made on him skipping the voting. Reports suggest that the actor had checked in Breach Candy Hospital two days before the surgery. He was under the care of doctors at the hospital.

Post the surgery, Chiranjeevi will take rest for a couple of weeks. He is expected to kick-start the shooting of his comeback movie, which has been creating ripples in the media for a long time now. This untitled Telugu movie, which happens to be the 150th movie of the megastar, is said to be the remake of Tamil blockbuster "Kaththi" starring Superstar Vijay in the lead role.

Speculations about Chiranjeevi's comeback to film started after the actor suffered a setback in the 2014 general elections. A lot has been spoken and written about the script, cast and crew of his 150th film in the last two years. His son Ram Charan, who is producing the movie with his mother, has recently made an announcement, confirming that he will be a remake and VV Vinayak will direct it.

Chiranjeevi had put some extra pounds due to his busy political schedules in the last few years. Last year, the actor started preparation for the role and he has maintained a strict regime of diet and exercise to shed some weight. He had also camped in a Kerala spa for some days in February 2015. He has grown handlebar moustache, which he flaunt in his comeback film.
